The Inspiration
It started as a personal medical journey
experienced by our co-founder when his son, Sam, was diagnosed
with a brain tumor. He not only survived the tumor and
treatments, he suffered surprisingly less from the debilitating
side effects than other patients.
Innovative nutrition with a focus on herbs
played a major role in Sam’s recovery. While researching
nutrition therapy, it became apparent that traditional cake,
cookies and ice cream treats were probably doing more harm than
good. Yet how can you deny such children a happy
experience, even if the food’s unhealthy for them?
There was a need for a nutritious and
delicious frozen treat that could better serve these children
and their families.
What if we could create a healthful and
pleasurable alternative to normal sweets – something that could
potentially hydrate and nourish these children as well?
And what if we could make it so good that it
was enjoyable by everyone, including those with restrictive
diets, food allergies or food sensitivities?
We are certifiable lovers of food in general
and ice cream in particular. We were inspired to fill this void
and hence, Alpine Ice was born.
